Florida’s U.S. Senator Rick Scott shared bad news for Novak Djokovic and his fans. A 22-time Major winner can not enter the USA for the upcoming season’s first Masters 1000 events in Indian Wells and Miami. Novak requested an exemption from the rule prohibiting not permanent USA residents from entering the country if they have not been vaccinated against Covid-19.
Homeland security rejected Djokovic’s request, and the Serb will take a break from tennis in the upcoming four or five weeks
. Novak missed two Majors and four Masters 1000 events in 2022 due to his vaccination status. He will skip two more notable tournaments, but his struggle should end after that, getting the green light to play in the USA in August and September.

The Indian Wells and Miami Open tournament directors gave their best to bring Novak to the USA and have him in the draw. However, they will have to wait for another opportunity, as he must withdraw from this year’s events.
