No Australian Open for Venus Williams, targets return in March 2024

Venus Williams played just ten matches in 2023, her last one being a first-round loss at the US Open. Still recovering from injury sustained at Wimbledon, the tennis legend will not be ready in time for the 2024 Australian Open, but plans to make a comeback on home soil in spring.

Despite her body often signaling ‘no,’ the 43-year-old Williams remains resolute in her determination to extend her illustrious tennis career. The seven-time Grand Slam champion continues to work on her form, aspiring to secure a more sustained period on the court. For now, the former world No.1’s objective is to recuperate in time for the North American tournaments in March, namely Indian Wells and Miami.

In a recent interview, Williams explained:
