Thursday night offers an incredible slate of top-10 women’s hoops, beginning with No. 10 Notre Dame handing No. 4 Texas its first loss of the season in overtime.

Notre Dame celebrates win over Texas

Notre Dame pulled away in overtime, outscoring Texas 12-2 in the extra period to secure a 10-point win over the undefeated Longhorns. 

It was a close game throughout, with neither team holding a double-digit lead until the Irish in overtime. Texas trailed 39-34 at the break, and Notre Dame tried to pull away in the third quarter, holding a nine-point lead. But the Longhorns clawed right back in, pulling back within five heading into the fourth. 

The fourth was an absolute battle with four lead changes and five ties before overtime. The Irish held a 66-64 lead with under 15 seconds to play, but Texas guard Rori Harmon nailed a pull-up jumper to tie the game with seven seconds to play.
