Nick Kyrgios had a cheeky message for those questioning his knowledge about women’s tennis as the 2022 Wimbledon finalist took to X to let everyone know how he correctly predicted that Barbora Krejcikova would pull off a big upset versus Elena Rybakina and make the final at The Championships.
On Thursday, Krejcikova – who entered Wimbledon ranked at No. 32 after struggling with her health and injuries in the last few years – stunned 2022 Wimbledon champion Rybakina after creating an impressive 3-6 6-3 6-4 comeback in their semifinal match.
Although Krejcikova is also a past Grand Slam champion and had been ranked as high as No. 2 in the world, many still had current world No. 4 Rybakina as the big favorite to win their matchup simply because she was outstanding in her last few matches and her abilities on the grass are well-known.
And when the match started and Rybakina opened a comfortable 4-0 lead and easily won the first set, everything was pointing toward the 25-year-old Kazakh earning another dominant win. But the 28-year-old Czech didn’t quit and now she is set for her first final at The All England Club.
