Nick Kyrgios has made himself available to Coco Gauff if she needs some tips on improving her serve after blasting a stunning 19 unforced errors during a surprise US Open round-of-16 loss.
On Sunday, the defending champion saw her title defense come to an end at Flushing Meadows after fellow American Emma Navarro handed the No. 3 seed a 6-3 4-6 6-3 loss. And one of the biggest reasons behind the 2023 US Open champion’s loss was her poor serving display as apart from making a big number of double faults, she also made just 46 percent of her first serve and also won just 40 percent of her second-serve points.
However, truth be told, Gauff has been struggling with her serve throughout the entire summer. And after what happened against the world No. 12, the 20-year-old’s serving issues drew even more attention as some expressed disbelief – some wondered what was the cause of all of this – while some provided blamed coach Brad Gilbert and called for his sacking.
“My honest advice to @CocoGauff is to sack @bgtennisnation. He became Gauff head coach in November 2023 and her game has regressed since then. Brad loves himself more than anyone else and that doesn’t work if you are a Head Coach,” one fan wrote on X following the American’s exit.
