Nick Kyrgios doesn’t appear to be bothered by what some have to say about him as he has made it crystal clear that he has zero doubts about what he brings to tennis as a player and commentator.
While the Australian wasn’t ready to make his return at the US Open, he was at Flushing Meadows during the entire tournament since he was working as an analyst and commentator for ESPN. For the 29-year-old, it wasn’t a new gig since he has been in tennis broadcasting since late 2023 when he debuted in the booth during the ATP Finals.
Since debuting as a commentator, Kyrgios has mostly received positive reviews for the knowledge and insight he delivers on air but there are still some who simply don’t want to see him in the booth because of some non-tennis stuff. During the final Grand Slam of the year, the former world No. 13 was publicly criticizing the Jannik Sinner doping case and that led to some calling on ESPN to ditch him – which evidently didn’t happen.
