NFL owners to vote on adding four limited partners to the Atlanta Falcons ownership group

CBS Sports NFL Insider Jonathan Jones reports that the NFL team owners expect to have a vote later today to approve the addition of four limited partners to the Atlanta Falcons ownership group. Jones says the four partners are to be Dominique Dawes, Rosalind Brewer, Will Packer and Rashaun Williams. All four prospective partners are African-American, with Brewer (Spelman), Packer (Florida A&M) and Williams (Morehouse) all attending historically black colleges or universities.

Dawes is a retired American Olympic gold-medal-winning gymnast and one of only three women to compete in three Olympic games. Dawes and the “Magnificient Seven” won the first-ever gold medal for the United States in the women’s team competition at the 1996 Summer Olympics held, ironically, in Atlanta. Dawes also won bronze in Floor at the 1996 Olympics while also winning bronze medals in team competitions in 1992 and 2000.

Brewer is the former CEO of Walgreens, the former COO of Starbucks and the former CEO of Sam’s Club. She was named one of Forbes’s top 50 over 50 in 2021 and topped out at #13 on the Forbes Power Women list in 2022.
