Legendary goalkeeper Alyssa Naeher will make her international swan song as the United States women wrap up a two-game friendly tour of Europe with a match against the Netherlands in The Hague on Tuesday.
Ever-present in goal for the USWNT over the past decade, the 36-year-old announced she would retire from international football following this trip across the pond. She started in goal on Saturday in a 0-0 draw with England at Wembley Stadium.
Ranked first in the world by FIFA, the U.S. women take on a Dutch side ranked 11th, having slipped from their usual place amongst the top five in recent years. The retirement of Lieke Martens and injuries to Vivianne Miedema have sapped the Oranje of their usual firepower.
