Nebraska takes the best shot from Arkansas, wins in four

Top-seeded Nebraska is headed back to the NCAA Tournament national semifinals after the top-seeded Huskers knocked out ninth-seeded Arkansas 26-24, 25-14, 21-25, 25-23 on Saturday night.

Nebraska (32-1) will play Pittsburgh (29-4) — which won its regional final by pulling a reverse sweep of Louisville — Thursday in Tampa in the NCAA Division I Women’s Volleyball Championship.

Merritt Beason led Nebraska with 19 kills, an assist, 11 digs and eight blocks. Harper Murray had 15 kills, an assist, 12 digs and three blocks, one solo. Bekka Allick had five kills and 12 blocks.

Nebraska, which finished 21-0 at home this season, hit .194, but Arkansas (28-6) hit .100. Nebraska had 17 blocks to the Razorbacks’ nine, but Arkansas held an 8-1 advantage in aces.
