Caught beneath the glare of the frigid cold, legends are made. These ones don’t look like Jack Frost, however. Rather, they’re lithe, elegant and capable of sending the masses into raptures with the flick of the wrist.
The Women’s Frozen Four is back in action this spring, and it sees a handful of college hockey’s greatest programs challenge one another for a chance at the greatest prize of them all: the NCAA title.
This year’s iteration of the tourney features a host of blue-chip programs, most notably reigning champions Wisconsin and last year’s runner-ups, top-ranked Ohio State. The Big Ten’s reign on college hockey isn’t a new phenomenon by any means. But given the Badgers and Buckeyes’ impressive showings during the 2023-24 campaign — Wisconsin is 31-5, while OSU is 31-3 — it’s hard to argue there are many bigger favorites.
