The entirety of the 2023 women’s gymnastics season will come down to the NCAA championship in Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, Texas.
Several storylines abound at this year’s ultimate event, where stars such as LSU’s Haleigh Bryant and UCLA’s Jordan Chiles look to dominate routines and headlines. The status of another star, Florida’s Trinity Thomas, will be a massive story to monitor, as well.
The reigning NCAA all-around gymnastics champion suffered a lower right leg injury on March 31 during a regional meet in Pittsburgh, and her status for the championships in Texas is uncertain. If she is able to compete, then the Gators’ chances of winning a national title become substantially better.

So, who will come away with this year’s team championship?
Top-ranked, defending champion Oklahoma is the favorite to come away with it all, but the Sooners compete in arguably the more difficult of the two national semifinals alongside No. 2 Utah, No. 5 UCLA and No. 7 Kentucky.
No. 3 Florida is perhaps the favorite to win the national championship on the other side of the bracket alongside Cal, LSU and Denver, but the injury to Thomas certainly throws that into doubt.
