The only thing higher than the stakes at the NCAA gymnastics championships are the flips. Eight squads enter the final competitions of the season, but only one will be crowned the 2025 national champion.
It’s LSU’s title to defend. The No. 1 seed entering the postseason, the Tigers earned the program’s first gymnastics title last season, and they have what it takes to get it done again. Of course, nothing is guaranteed. No. 2 Oklahoma has its eyes on the prize, aiming for its third title in four years.
The Sooners are up first, competing against fellow SEC squads Missouri, Florida and Alabama in Thursday’s first semifinals. The two teams with the highest score will advance to Saturday’s championship.
LSU will take the floor in the second semifinal competition, facing Michigan State, Utah and UCLA for a spot in the Four on the Floor.
It’s anyone’s to take, as all eight teams have the ability to strike at the right moment in Fort Worth. But to accomplish it all, they must be perfect.
