Oklahoma is the NCAA gymnastics national champion for a second consecutive season.
The Sooners beat out Florida, Utah and LSU at Saturday’s finals in Fort Worth, Texas, with a score of 198.3875. They will hang their sixth banner in the last nine years when they get home to Norman.
Oklahoma will also bring home hardware from the individual sections. Olivia Trautman won the vault with a score of 9.9500, while tying for third on beam with UCLA’s Emma Malabuyo and Kentucky’s Isabella Magnelli, also with a 9.9500.
Two other women were involved in ties as well. Jordan Bowers and Faith Torrez were part of a nine-way tie for third place in the floor exercise with scores of 9.9500.
Utah earned its own hardware from the weekend, with Maile O’Keefe winning the all-around competition on Thursday with a score of 39.7625. She also took home the gold for beam with a perfect 10.000. Utah was also involved in second place ties for bars and beam and a third-place tie for floor.

Florida’s Leanne Wong tied for third with LSU’s Haleigh Bryant on bars with a score of 9.9375, and tied LSU’s Aleah Finnegan on floor with a score of 9.9625.
