Through an Instagram story, Naomi Osaka officially announced her separation from coach Wim Fissette: the Japanese player, as reported by Open Court, has reportedly chosen Patrick Mouratoglou as her new coach. The Frenchman, former coach of Serena Williams and Simona Halep, would join the team of the 4-time Slam champion after the double experience (decidedly negative) with Holger Rune.
In recent days, Naomi was at UCLA training under the aegis of the French coach. Their partnership would be sensational news for women’s tennis: a clear message that Osaka wants to send to her rivals, to regain her dominant role in the WTA Tour, after the ups and downs, mental health problems and motherhood.
