Naomi Osaka is expected to at least return to action later this month after signing up to play at the WTA 250 tournament in Hong Kong.
On Tuesday, the Hong Kong Tennis Open organizers had a special announcement to make, confirming that the four-time Grand Slam champion agreed to come to their tournament which is slated to take place between October 28th – November 3rd.
Since Osaka’s name didn’t appear on the tournament’s initial player field, she probably didn’t plan to play in the Chinese WTA 250 event this year. But after being forced to miss Wuhan due to an injury and having her Tokyo appearance in jeopardy, the 26-year-old was forced to seek alternatives.
In Hong Kong, the former world No. 1 will be joined by Emma Raducanu and Simona Halep. Also, there will be the defending champion Leylah Fernandez.

On Sunday, the 26-year-old held a Q&A session on Instagram, where she answered several questions received from her fans.
