Naomi Osaka has hinted that she might pull a Serena Williams and Venus Williams and play to her forties. Osaka, who will be turning 26 in October, is planning to make her post-pregnancy comeback to tennis in January. When Osaka returns to tennis, she will be playing her first tournament since 2022 September.
During her time away from tennis, former world No 1 Osaka realized how much she actually loves tennis. Serena retired from pro tennis at the age of 40 last year, while 43-year-old Venus is still active.
“I remember watching the Australian Open & being devastated because I’ve never missed an Australian Open.
When I was watching Serena & Venus I was thinking I probably no way will ever play at their age, but sitting here I’m like you know what? I might do that actually,” Osaka said, via Reem Abulleil.
