Murodjon Akhmadaliev looks to stay active and prove he can fight the best at super bantamweight when he takes on Ricardo Espinoza Franco on December 14 in Monte Carlo. The 12-round bout, plus undercard action, will air on DAZN.
Akhmadaliev (12-1) is a 2016 Olympic bronze medalist. He beat Daniel Roman in 2020 for the IBF and WBA super bantamweight titles and defended the belts three times. Marlon Tapales spoiled a potential Naoya Inoue fight by dethroning him in 2023.
Following a rebound fight, Akhmadaliev will compete for the first time this year. He hopes a win will bring him closer to his goals, and it helps that the WBA recently announced that this fight will be for the interim super bantamweight title.
