Mississippi State named Week 14 NCAA women’s basketball team of the week

NCAA.com Team of the Week, the Mississippi State Bulldogs swept through three Southeastern Conference contests last week and stretched its winning streak to four straight games.

Winners of six of their last seven contests, Mississippi State posted wins last week over No. 9 LSU at home 77-73, and then went on the road to score wins at Kentucky (77-74 in overtime) and Texas A&M (74-63), improving to 19-5 overall and 6-3 in conference play.

In Sunday’s win over Texas A&M, graduate student forward Erynn Barnum led the way with 22 points, six rebounds and three assists. Barnum connected on 9-11 shots from the field and 4-6 from the free throw line in scoring a season-high. Senior guard Jerkaila Jordan added her tenth career double-double and sixth of the season with 11 points and 11 rebounds, while senior guard Darrione Rogers turned 18 points and five rebounds.
