If Michigan plays Ohio State in the postseason, college football may get an unprecedented rematch of ‘The Game’ this December.
Both teams primarily meet in the fall, which is still the case on Thanksgiving weekend. The Buckeyes travel to Ann Arbor to try to snap a four-game losing streak against their most-hated rival, which would finally lift the proverbial monkey off coach Ryan Day’s shoulders.
In a unique twist, ESPN unveiled its complete projected bracket for the College Football Playoff Monday, which sees the Buckeyes having to go back to Ann Arbor less than a month later for an 8-versus-9 elimination game.
Based on the predictions of the hypothetical bracket, Ohio State would again fail to beat Michigan in a must-win scenario, a critical reason why Day has been scrutinized for not beating TTUN.
“You’re expected to win them all,” Day said in an interview with Dan Patrick. “When you don’t, it’s tough. That’s because of the passion [of the Ohio State fanbase].
