The Formula One bosses of Mercedes and McLaren — Toto Wolff and Zak Brown — have called for greater transparency over Red Bull’s investigation into allegations made against team principal Christian Horner.
Horner, Red Bull’s F1 chief, was subject to allegations made by a female employee that triggered an investigation by Red Bull Racing’s parent company, Red Bull GmbH. Horner denied the allegations.
Red Bull GmbH announced Wednesday that Horner had been cleared following the investigation and the grievance had been dismissed, with the complainant retaining a right to appeal.
The statement said the report, compiled after hours of interviews by a King’s Counsel appointed to oversee the investigation, was “confidential” and that Red Bull GmbH would “not be commenting further out of respect for all concerned.”
Horner returned to the F1 paddock Thursday ahead of the season-opening Bahrain Grand Prix and was on the Red Bull pit wall for both practice sessions. He told Sky Sports News he was “pleased that the process is over” but declined to comment on the investigation.
But Wolff and Brown both called for greater transparency over the investigation.
