The Madness is back. It’s March, and that means that the NCAA Tournament is back. Between the men’s and women’s brackets this year, you have ample opportunity to pick each matchup and painstakingly try to achieve perfection.
At this point, there’s no reason to consume yourself because the chance of picking a perfect bracket is 1 in 9.2 quadrillion. To be fair, that’s with knowing nothing about basketball or doing a coin flip for every matchup. If you know basketball and some things about the teams, the odds of a perfect bracket increase all the way to 1 in 120.2 billion, according to the NCAA.
Whether you pick all upsets, flip a coin or pick which mascot you think will win in a fight, there is no wrong way to fill out a bracket. That’s where the Madness comes in. In a split second, every bracket can bust with an unlikely buzzer beater. And that excitement, heartbreak and randomness is what we live for.
