Manchester United scored a dramatic late winner to beat Brighton & Hove Albion 3-2 and reach the Women’s FA Cup final at Wembley.
Rachel Williams netted the decisive goal on the break in the 89th minute as Marc Skinner’s side recovered from conceding a first-half own goal.
The victory marks the first time United’s women’s team have made the final of a major tournament, with Chelsea or Aston Villa in wait next month.
The Women’s Super League (WSL) leaders had to recover from goalkeeper Mary Earps unwittingly steering the ball into her own net to give Brighton the lead in the 36th minute.
Leah Galton equalised two minutes after the break, but though Alessia Russo put United ahead in the 71st minute, Danielle Carter equalised for the WSL’s bottom side four minutes later to set up a grandstand finish.
Brighton poured forward in search of a winner, but United punished them on the counter-attack as Williams latched on to Katie Zelem’s pass and firing home.
The final takes place on May 14.
