USA’s Madison Keys will go in search of her first ever Wimbledon semifinal appearance as she takes on world No. 2 Aryna Sabalenka at the quarterfinal stage.
The Illinois native came through a battle in the Round of 16, eventually beating 16-year-old rising star Mirra Andreeva in three sets despite finding herself a set down early on.
Her clash with Sabalenka will prove her most difficult to date on the grass courts of SW19. The Belarusian big hitter is known as one of the most powerful players in the women’s draw and Keys will have to be at her very best to limit the damage of her big serving.
So far in this tournament, Sabalenka has dropped just one set across her four matches and dispatched 21st seed Ekaterina Alexandrova in straight sets in very comfortable fashion in the Round of 16 to set up this latest showdown.
