Lynx’s Diamond Miller out with sprained ankle: How her absence impacts Minnesota

Date:

Minnesota Lynx forward Diamond Miller will be sidelined with a right ankle sprain, the team announced Friday. Here’s what you need to know:

  • Miller sustained the injury late in the second quarter of Minnesota’s 94-89 loss to the Dallas Wings on Tuesday.
  • The team said that Miller “will be re-evaluated in the following weeks” and that “further updates will be issued when available.”
  • Through her first five WNBA games, Miller averaged 10.4 points, 3.0 rebounds and 2.2 assists. The Lynx selected the former Maryland star with the second pick in the 2023 draft.

Her 10.4 points per game average is second among rookies, behind only Fever center Aliyah Boston, and Miller has totaled the most assists of any rookie thus far as well (albeit in a small sample). — Pickman
