Brockport has continued to prove week after week why they are the top team in the NCGA-East. The Golden Eagles are looking as strong as ever, not only proving to be the best team in the NCGA-East, they have also proven to be the top team in the state of New York, defeating Ithaca, Utica, Cortland, LIU, and Cornell in the Empire State Classic this past weekend. As a Division III team, defeating two Division I programs is no easy feat, but the Golden Eagles know how to win, regardless of what division their competitors are. This will be a fun meet for the Eagles where they can hope to post another huge away score to compete with the West in rankings since, as viewers have seen, Ithaca home meets are not afraid to throw out some big numbers.
Ithaca, on the other hand, has shown a little less dominance this season, being beaten by Cortland all three times the teams have competed against each other. Ithaca has put out tremendous performances at home, but has yet to show it can hit at away meets. Ithaca does have the advantage of hosting regionals this year, but will need to show it can excel on the road as nationals will be uncharted territory.
