A Friday night MPSF dual meet is about to get underway as San Jose State travels to Sacramento to take on the Hornets! Going into this meet, the Spartans are heavily favored, and their primary goal will be scoring 196+ to get a good away score for NQS. Last week, San Jose State had to count a fall on bars, and it will be looking to come out swinging on this event in the first rotation. Look for Jada Mazury and reigning MPSF gymnast of the week Lauren Macpherson to lead the way.
As for Sacramento State, after a rough few opening meets, the team has found its stride scoring into the mid 194s the last few weeks. Last week, vault was the biggest issue for Sacramento State, so this first rotation will be key for it. Emma Morgenthaler’s clean Yurchenko 1.5 will lead the vault rotation and her all around performance will be essential for the Hornets as well. Watch out for Sarah Lutrel and Sarah Fitzgerald to be important factors tonight as well, especially on beam and vault.
