LIVE BLOG: No. 24 Minnesota at No. 31 New Hampshire

Date:

New Hampshire is eager to deliver a strong performance in its home opener after a challenging bars rotation knocked it out of contention in its week one tri-meet against Penn State and Penn. Freshmen Aine Reade and Cléante Théorêt impressed in their collegiate debuts with standout routines on floor and beam, respectively. Senior Alyssa Beaulieu, typically a key contributor on beam and floor, was absent from those lineups last week—so keep an eye out for her tonight.

Minnesota, coming off a win against Central Michigan, was led by fifth-year Mya Hooten, who once again delivered solid performances on vault, bars, and floor. Freshman Ava Stewart made a strong debut with the highest beam score of the night, posting a 9.875, which also earned her Big Ten Freshman of the week honors. However, the Gophers had to count some lower scores on vault and floor, so they’ll be looking for more consistency on those events as they face off against the Wildcats tonight.
