This quad meet should be a fun one, with important regionals implications for all three away teams. Southern Utah will be looking to score a high 196 to make a push for a seeded regional spot. After a bit of a beam disaster last week, the Thunderbirds will be looking to bounce back and 5th year all arounder Karley McClain will be key to that. For San Jose State, this meet is a great opportunity to drop the low 195 that’s bringing down its NQS. The Spartans are looking to score a 196 to get back into the regionals picture, with Lauren MacPherson and Jaudai Lopes leading the way in the all around.
As for UC Davis, the Aggies are still counting a 194 in their NQS and replacing that with a mid-195 will be key to get back into the bubble picture. UC Davis has not scored well on the road this season, but if it’s going to make a push for regionals, it needs to start tonight. Look for Keanna Abraham to anchor floor and vault with her dynamic tumbling and massive Yurchenko 1.5. Last but not least, home team Sacramento State is looking to build off of its season high 195.725 from last week. 5th year Amber Koeth has been impressive on beam all year long, so watch out for her routine tonight.
