As week three of the college gymnastics season wraps up, UC Davis is hosting an interesting quad meet that brings Alaska, Cornell, and last year’s national runner-up, California, to face the UC Davis Aggies. California should easily win this meet and will be looking to improve on its solid 197.250 from a week ago. As always, Mya Lauzon and eMjae Frazier will be leaders for the Golden Bears.
For Alaska and Cornell, this is their second meet of the weekend, having competed against Sacramento State on Friday night. Host UC Davis is looking to break into the 194s today after struggling a bit in its first few meets, particularly on beam. Last meet, standout Keanna Abraham was back on vault and crushed her Yurchekno one and a half for a 9.875, a score that some said was too low, even with the tighter scores we’ve seen so far this season. It’ll be interesting to see how that vault is evaluated today and if the Aggies will have her back on floor as well.
