Kansas City Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker was the topic of discussion after a controversial commencement speech given at Georgia Tech, saying that getting married and starting a family is more important than any career accomplishments.
A lot of people, especially women, were offended by his remarks, saying it made it seem as if women’s only purpose was to serve their husbands and be mothers. And while Butker may not have meant that, people made up their minds.
However, regardless of how you feel about the Chiefs kicker, he is one of the best in the world at what he does.
Butker is as clutch a kicker as there is in today’s NFL. Since 2020, the Chiefs have the most field goals made in the NFL. This pas Sunday, he kicked a 51-yard game-winning field goal, which is his fourth such kick on the final play or in overtime.
Butker has helped the Chiefs win all three of their Super Bowls in the Patrick Mahomes era, and his game-winning kick in the 2022-23 AFC Championship Game against the Bengals was instrumental in them winning their second Super Bowl of this era.
Love him or hate him, Butker is damn good at his job and has been a vital part of the Chiefs’ dynasty.
