Liberty start to look like superteam, with help from Sabrina Ionescu

With back-to-back 100+ point wins, the New York Liberty seem to be rounding into superteam form, living up to the promise of their blockbuster offseason.

The Liberty (6-2) took down the Atlanta Dream 106-83 on Friday, led by a career-high 37 points from Sabrina Ionescu – which included a franchise-record eight 3-pointers.

“I didn’t know what the franchise record for 3s was. But they were going under (the screen) — as a shooter that’s the most disrespectful thing you can do, so I shot it when I was open,” Ionescu said after the game. “My teammates got me the ball and great actions. I was just thankful we won at the end of the day. I was just making the reads and shooting if I’m open.”

The fourth-year guard shot 61.5% from 3-point range in the win, much better than her 42.9% mark for the season. She came down to earth Sunday, shooting just 37.5% from behind the arc, but still finished with…
