Future NCAA gymnasts Compete at Central American and Caribbean Games
Three future gymnasts were at this multi-sport event in San Salvador, El Salvador. Incoming Cal freshman Annalise Newman-Achee competed for Trinidad and Tobago, finishing sixth all-around. She also qualified to the bar finals where she placed fourth for 12.200. Talladega recruit Jamelia Duffus of Jamaica scored a 34.750 in the all-around with a high score of 12.200 on vault. Sydney Barros of Puerto Rico, who is signed with UCLA, performed a beautiful floor routine but landed short on her last pass and scratched the rest of the competition.
