Larry Nassar stabbing: Latest updates as disgraced former doctor in stable condition after prison altercation

Disgraced former sports doctor Larry Nassar was stabbed several times in prison on Sunday during an altercation with another inmate, according to a report from the Associated Press.

According to two people who spoke with the AP, the attack happened Sunday at the United States Penitentiary Coleman in Florida.

One of the AP’s sources said he was stabbed in the back in the chest, though did not indicate how many stab wounds he sustained.

The AP’s sources indicated Nassar was in stable condition on Monday, but did not indicate where he had been transferred to receive medical care.

The former team doctor for Michigan State and USA Gymnastics doctor used his position to exploit and sexually assault hundreds of children and young women under the guise of medical treatment — including some Team USA gymnasts — over the course of 18 years.
