Former USA Gymnastics and Michigan State team doctor Larry Nassar was assaulted inside a Florida federal prison overnight, according to multiple reports.
Nassar was stabbed multiple times during an altercation with another incarcerated person and is in stable condition Monday, per a report by The Associated Press.
Nassar sexually abused over 300 female gymnasts, and more than 150 women and girls spoke out publicly against him. The disgraced sports doctor pleaded guilty in 2018 to seven counts of criminal sexual conduct and was sentenced to 40 to 175 years in prison. In June 2022, Nassar had a final appeal rejected by the Michigan Supreme Court.
The 59-year-old is serving his sentence at the United States Penitentiary Coleman in Sumter County, Fla.
