Lakers coach J.J. Redick’s rental home destroyed in LA wildfires: ‘There’s certain things you can’t replace’

J.J. Redick is in his first season as the head coach for the Lakers. This was his first coaching job in the NBA, and he has led Los Angeles to a 20-16 record, sitting in sixth place in the Western Conference standings. 

As Redick is new to the franchise, he and his family were renting a house in the Los Angeles area — but amid the rampant wildfires in the city, Redick’s rental house was destroyed. Redick and his family are all safe, but they lost almost all of their belongings and are staying in a hotel trying to find a new place.

J.J. Redick’s rental home destroyed in Los Angeles wildfire

Redick’s rental home was in the Pacific Palisades area of Los Angeles. The Palisades fire is the biggest in the city and has consumed over 15,000 acres of land.

The Lakers’ head coach talked Friday about how his wife helped get his family out ahead of the fire that burned their home. Redick went up to the Palisades area after the fire swept through and called it “complete devastation.”
