Former world No 1 Jimmy Connors thinks extremely highly of Iga Swiatek as he admits he would like to meet the three-time Grand Slam champion. Connors, a former eight-time Grand Slam champion, believes 21-year-old Swiatek has already proved that she is capable of handling well adversity and coming out on top.
After a disappointing Australian Open, Swiatek returned to action during this past Middle East as she made it all the way in Doha and finished as runner-up in Dubai. “It seems to me that you know there are certain players that when bad things happen, you know, they know what it takes to overcome that adversity and to figure out why that happened.
I wish I could meet her. I’d love to meet her, you know love to have her on the podcast. It would be great,” Connors said on the Advantage Connors podcast, per Sportskeeda.
