Nicole Minniss, mother of 2023 NWSL Draft pick Mykiaa Minniss, tweeted on Friday a lengthy account of her daughter’s experience with the Kansas City Current during preseason. Minniss stated that her daughter was treated “less than professional, especially considering the NWSL’s past history and allegations of treatment towards fellow players,” and that her experience had “ruined her daughter’s love of the game.”
Minniss said that Mykiaa, a defender selected No. 35 overall out of Washington State, had paid for her own flight to report for preseason and provided her own meals for the first week.
