Katie Taylor pro record, titles ahead of Chantelle Cameron 2023 boxing fight

Date:

Representing Ireland, Katie Taylor has been an invaluable and pioneering force in women’s boxing. As the undisputed lightweight champion, Taylor’s passion for the sport and fighting heart have forged a Hall of Fame resume.

In 2016, Taylor sent a private message to promoter Eddie Hearn on Instagram to see if he would give her a chance. She wanted to make women’s boxing a main attraction, similar to how Ronda Rousey, Cris Cyborg, and others made an impact in MMA at the time.

Now, years on, she is one of the top fighters in the world.

“You can’t help but admire someone with that much dedication and passion for what they do,” Hearn told The Athletic in 2020. “It’s absolutely everything to her. Everything! She’s a remarkable individual. When you go into her dressing room before a fight, you can hear a pin drop, and you almost don’t want to go in there. She’s just so driven.”

Taylor will look to add to her legacy when she challenges Chantelle Cameron for the undisputed super lightweight title on May 20. Inside the 3Arena in Dublin, this will be the first time that Taylor will compete in her home country. The 10-round bout, plus undercard action, will air on DAZN.
