Karolina Muchova explains why WTA players deserve equal pay as men

Karolina Muchova suggests there are definitely arguments why WTA players now deserve to be equally paid as ATP players in pro tennis. Muchova, the 2023 French Open runner-up, feels women’s tennis “has become more fun and more unpredictable.” Over the last year, there has been a lot of talk about whether it’s time to end the gender pay gap in tennis.

Muchova, who achieved a career-high ranking of No 10 this Monday, thinks that the time for something like that has definitely come. “It is something that I cannot influence from my position. I understand that the organizers have signed contracts and new television rights.

For a long time, men’s tennis was considered more attractive, but lately it seems to me that women’s tennis has become more fun, more unpredictable. The stadiums are starting to fill up, we could see it in the Roland Garros final, that was an incredible experience,” Muchova told Vogue.

Muchova on returning to the top

After struggling with injuries, poor form, and even playing in some ITF tournaments last year, Muchova returned to the top this year.
