World No 18 Karolina Muchova says it’s too early to speak about a potential Warsaw final against Iga Swiatek. Muchova, 26, met world No 1 Swiatek in this year’s Frech Open final. In the final at Roland Garros, Muchova came very close to upsetting Swiatek but the Pole eventually managed to win 6-2 5-7 6-4.
This week, Muchova is the second-seeded player in Warsaw and she could potentially meet Swiatek in the final. On Tuesday, Muchova didn’t make a convincing start to her Warsaw campaign but managed to beat Aliaksandra Sasnovich 4-6 7-6 (0) 6-3.

“A few people already told me ‘See you in the final’ but, you know, it’s not that easy.
It’s not that easy. I could just feel that just in my first round. So, I’ll for sure try my best to get there but I’m taking it match by match and let’s see the next round,” Muchova said.In the French Open final, Swiatek was the heavy favorite to beat Muchova and the Pole started by winning the first set 6-2 and then taking a 3-0 lead in the second set.
