It has been one of the worst kept secrets in fashion but today the official announcement finally dropped, of Jonathan Anderson becoming sole creative director of Christian Dior. Rumors have been rampant for months that the British designer was to take over from Maria Grazia Chiuri, whose departure was only announced on Friday. Anderson was appointed creative director of Dior Men in April, succeeding Kim Jones. The London College of Fashion graduate and former Loewe creative director makes history with his latest appointment, becoming the first to lead all of Dior since Monsieur Dior himself. “‘It is a great honor to join the House of Dior,” Anderson said. “I look forward to working alongside its legendary Ateliers to craft the next chapter of this incredible story.”
