American tennis legend Jimmy Connors thinks Danielle Collins is probably “rethinking” her retirement decision amidst a great stretch that has seen her play the tennis of her life.
After losing to Iga Swiatek in a tight Australian Open second-round match, 30-year-old Collins revealed to reporters that she was playing her last on the Tour. Since then, Collins has been one of the best players on the Tour as recently she became a WTA 1000 champion in Miami – won a WTA 500 tournament in Charleston – and she was also a semifinalist at this past Rome Open.
Also, Collins has drastically improved her rankings since the start of the year as she is now the 12th-ranked player in the world
Naturally, Collins’ form led to many asking her if she would change her mind. But so far, Collins has been adamant that her retirement decision stays as she wants to fully focus on addressing her endometriosis diagnosis – which is making it hard for her to achieve her motherhood goals.
