Jessica Pegula has ripped a British newspaper after a story published seemingly put into question her determination to compete for the biggest titles because of her status in the United States. Pegula, ranked at No 4 in the world, is the daughter of Terry and Kim Pegula, who own NFL’s Buffalo Bills and NHL’s Buffalo Sabres.
The Pegula family is one of the wealthiest in the United States but Jessica made a name for herself in tennis as for some time now she has been among the top players in the world. At Wimbledon, 29-year-old Pegula made her sixth Grand Slam quarterfinal – but for the sixth time ended on the losing side.
The Times then published a story titled: “Six quarter-finals, six defeats: Jessica Pegula needs dynamic that family billions can’t buy.”
Pegula responds: I won’t be buying this trash article
“I’ll tell you what I won’t buy is this [trash] article,” Pegula wrote on Twitter.
