Jessica Pegula explained the decision to split with her coaches David Witt, on the eve of Indian Wells.
The American tennis player began training with Witt in 2019 and, since then, her progress has been evident, culminating in the victory of four WTA titles, including the two WTA 1000 in Guadalajara in 2022 and Monterrey in 2023. Last season, Jessica also played in the final of the WTA Finals in Cancun, losing to Iga Swiatek.
The work between Pegula and Witt has also brought excellent results in the Majors, considering that Jessica has reached the quarterfinals at both the Australia Open, the Roland Garros, Wimbledon and the US Open, between 2021 and 2023.
