Jessica Pegula hints at future doubles plans with Coco Gauff

Jessica Pegula confirms she and Coco Gauff are targeting to play doubles at the Paris Olympics but also indicated that they will probably play fewer doubles tournaments next year. Pegula and Gauff, who are great friends off the court, have also established themselves as one of the best doubles pairs in the world.

After winning three tournaments last year, Pegula and Gauff also won Doha and Miami this year and were also runners-up in Madrid and Rome. Although Pegula and Gauff have had great success in doubles, their primary focus remains on the singles, where they are both ranked inside the top-5.

“Especially with Coco Gauff winning US Open, you know, I’m sure she’s set on really doing well at the Slams, so we’ll see. We definitely want to play Olympics next year. I think so, maybe once we get past that we’ll rethink about it but yeah.

It’s just gonna happen, so maybe. I played like 120 matches like combined with everything. And so yeah next year, I think Coco Gauff and I will probably play less doubles we want to try and focus on singles. Again, it didn’t mean to happen like that.
