It’s been less than a week since the New England Patriots fired head coach Jerod Mayo after his first season finished with a 4-13 record, but the stories about his year as head coach have already started to come out.
Most of the conversation surrounding Mayo so far has been about the immaturity and lack of experience that he and some members of his staff showed from the start of last offseason to the Week 18 win over the Buffalo Bills on Sunday.
On Friday, Mayo’s wife, Chantel, took to social media to share her thoughts through a pair of Instagram stories.
“It never even crossed our minds to tell the truth… but I couldn’t even fathom all the lies we’ve read that are being told to save face,” she posted. “What happened to class?
“We’ve been taking the high road and letting everyone do their thing since Sunday. But playing with someone’s name won’t be tolerated. I bet the fake stories will stop before the real ones start.”
