Hannah Hidalgo, Notre Dame

Notre Dame freshman sensation Hannah Hidalgo averaged 28.5 points, seven rebounds and five assists as the Fighting Irish split a pair of games last week against ranked opponents.

In Saturday’s 82-67 road victory over No. 8 UConn, Hidalgo erupted for 34 points, breaking the single-game Notre Dame freshman scoring record previously set in 1991 by Michelle Marciniak. For Hidalgo it was her third time in total putting up at least 30 points, a Notre Dame record and marked the second time this season that Hidalgo has posted 30-plus points against a top-10 team, previously scoring 31 points in a loss to South Carolina on Nov. 6.

Earlier in the week on Jan. 24, Hidalgo tallied 23 points, four rebounds, four assists, three steals and knocked down all eight of her free throws in a 79-65 home loss to Syracuse.
