Jasmine Paolini was in great spirits after securing her career-best result at the French Open as the Italian tennis star took a hilarious shot at her height when asked about her heart being so big.
Paolini, seeded at No. 12, found herself in trouble early against world No. 70 Elina Aavanesyan but easily resolved the issue with an impressive 4-6 6-0 6-1 win.
For 28-year-old Paolini – who won her first WTA 1000 title in Dubai earlier this year – this is the first time that she has reached a Grand Slam quarterfinal.
While conducting an on-court interview with Paolini, former seven-time Grand Slam champion Mats Wilander told the 28-year-old Italian: “Your heart is so big. I don’t know how it can even fit in your body.”
Paolini, who stands at 5 ft 4 in or 1.63 m tall, hilariously responded: “It has to be big because I’m so small!”
