Simone Vagnozzi, the current coach of the young Italian tennis player Jannik Sinner, gave an interview to the Italian Sport Mediaset website, in which he underlined the great progress made by his student during 2023. Vagnozzi also analyzed what the young Italian’s real goals are, looking for to maintain a miraculous balance between dream and reality. “We all know Sinner’s qualities, our goal was to reach the top eight in the world and we got there early by climbing to number four.

The most important thing is to see him improve technically, physically and mentally. He is becoming a man. With his qualities we always expect great results,” he explained. Great help for Sinner’s exploits was given by Darren Cahill.

The Australian coach, who collaborated with the Romanian Simona Halep who reached the number 1 position in the WTA ranking under his guidance, has been in the 2001 class team since June 2022.

“It’s important that both Darren and I don’t want to be in the headlines and he’s a special person. He has a great CV but he entered on tiptoe. The credit goes to him,” said Vagnozzi.
