Jamie Murray agrees with Dan Evans’ claim on Emma Raducanu’s US Open win

Jamie Murray agrees with Dan Evans that the state of British tennis isn’t the best and that Emma Raducanu’s 2021 US Open win just “papered over the cracks” in British tennis. At the French Open, Evans criticized the state of British tennis after only three British men and no British women made the French Open main draw.

Also, Great Britain has no WTA players ranked inside the top-100 in the world. Addressing the state of British tennis, Evans suggested that Raducanu’s 2021 Grand Slam win made the reality of British tennis look better than it actually is.

“Evo is probably right. Emma had this whirlwind two weeks out of nowhere but that’s not the reality of where we are at. Something needs to change,” Murray said, via Express-Sport.
